Mary Ann Harley, sampler (1817)

From the needlework sampler collection of The Fitzwilliam Museum. This fabulous cropped sweater shirt has a printed reproduction of a flower band from the original sampler. The original work can be found on the Fitzwilliam Museum's collection online, accession number T.4-1946, it is made from wool and  embroidered with polychrome silks in satin cross-stitch.
