Nicolas Robert (attributed to), Iponoea (Morning Glory) Tropaeolum majors, and Nasturtium tied with violet ribbon
A beautiful 17th century botanical study attributed to the French painter Nicolas Robert. The twirling, sinuous tendrils of the plants give an unusually dynamic and lifelike feel to the work.
Part of the Broughton Collection of The Fitzwilliam Museum.
