Kettle's Yard has the largest public collection of paintings by St Ives artist Alfred Wallis (1855-1942). His distinctive works of ships and boats (along with other subjects including trees and houses) are among the most beloved in the collection. This book reproduces some of the popular works that are displayed in the Kettle's Yard House, along with more unusual paintings that are not usually on display. It contains extracts of letters from Wallis's contemporaries to explore what made this self-taught artist such an original and unique figure.
