The Macclesfield Psalter, A rabbit riding a hound (detail), c. 1330

The Macclesfield Psalter, a medieval prayer book created in East Anglia in the 12th century, is one of the true treasures of The Fitzwilliam Museum. The details of its marginalia are particularly intriguing, with unlikely illustrations such as this rabbit blowing a hunting horn and riding a hound.
