Curating Cambridge Ltd. (CCL) is the retail and licensing subsidiary of the University of Cambridge, providing services across the University of Cambridge Museums, including The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge University Botanic Garden, and the Museum of Zoology. It also manages the University’s official webstore, and its global trademark rights for consumer products.


Our mission is to connect visitors and global audiences with the University’s extraordinary collections through beautifully designed products and inspiring retail experiences. Operating across museum shops, e-commerce, and product development, we are entering an exciting new phase, bringing these elements together into a fully integrated omnichannel retail model.


We are now seeking a Director of Retail to lead this transformation.


The Opportunity

This is a rare leadership role at the intersection of retail, culture, and design.

You will lead a growing retail operation spanning:

  • Physical stores across iconic sites including The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge University Botanic Garden, and Museum of Zoology
  • A developing e-commerce platform
  • An expanding bespoke product and design function
  • You will shape a cohesive, customer-first retail ecosystem that blends storytelling, commerciality, and world-class brand experience.
