This fierce winged dragon can be found within the pages of The Macclesfield Psalter, an unusually richly illustrated prayer book made in East Anglia in the early 12th century. It was acquired by The Fitzwilliam Museum in 2005 after a large scale public appeal and with assistance from The Art Fund.
