After a childhood in France, where he developed a love of drawing and nature, he returned to the family estate near Philadelphia at the age of 18. In the 1820s he began work upon a hugely ambitious undertaking: to paint and describe every bird species in the United States of America. The Birds of America, published in five volumes between 1827 and 1838, is now considered one of the most significant ornithological works in history.

Product details:

Greeting card with white envelope

Card size: 12 x 17 cm

Printed in the UK on FSC approved paper board
