Limited edition defaced coin - God Save the Queen
Limited edition defaced coin - God Save the Queen
Paul Embleton is a UK artist working in the tradition of defacing currency to transform coins into messages of political activism and subversion. Examples of Embleton's countermarked coins have been acquired by the Fitzwilliam Museum and are currently on display in the Defaced! Money Conflict Protest exhibition.
These special limited edition two pence pieces, created exclusively for the Fitzwilliam Museum, have been hand stamped GOD SAVE THE QUEEN. Each is mounted and framed, and signed on the back by the artist. Because each coin is different, and each message individually stamped, every piece is unique.
Product details:
- 2p coin, countermarked with the message GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
- Mounted and framed, frame size: 25 x 25 cm
- Limited edition, signed by the artist
