A spectacular study in watercolour and bodycolour of a pink variegated 'Rose of Provins' or French Rose, by Dutch Golden Age painter Pieter Withoos (1655 - 1692). This illustration was gifted to The Fitzwilliam Museum, along with many other splendid works by Withoos, as part of the Broughton bequest in 1973.
