Konstantin Somov, Illustration for Theatre, 1909
A flaming heart motif enamel pin, inspired by Konstantin Somov's illustrated title page for Alexsandr Blok's book Theatre. The work of this Russian artist may be over a century old but the dramatic masked figures and bold colours display a stylish and distinctly modern sensibility. The badge comes displayed on a decorated backing card to show off the source illustration, making an unusual and appealing gift package.
