Valentine Bartholomew, An Arrangement of Lilies, Peonies and Roses
A stunning botanical still life in watercolours and graphite by English flower painter Valentine Bartholomew (1799-1879). Bartholomew's great skill is particularly apparent in the realistic petals of the white lilies and the textured rendering of the wall behind the flowers.
From the Broughton Collection of The Fitzwilliam Museum.
