Between the 15th and 17th centuries, the town of Iznik in Ottoman Turkey became renowned for producing highly decorative ceramics with vibrant lead glazed colours. This design, featuring a pair of fine parrots flanking a fountain, displays the characteristic blue, green and red colour palette.
