Illustrations of floral arrangements from the Broughton Collection.
The Broughton bequest has given the Fitzwilliam Museum one of the most impressive collections of flower paintings and botanical drawings in the world. This notecard pack contains five carefully detailed renderings of floristry in watercolours and body colours - watercolours mixed with gouache or other pigments to give an opaque appearance. The images included are:
Dominique Dumillier, Viburnum opulus with Parrot Tulips (cover image)
Lucy de Beaurepaire, Mixed Roses
Charlotte James, Bouquet of Chrysanthemum, c. 1870
Louis Pierre Schilt, Bouquet of Flowers, 1833
Valentine Bartholemew, Arrangement of Lilies, Peonies and Roses
